Chapter 17 - Part of My Life

I don't know what title should this post be because there nothing much happening for the whole week. Basically, it's just plain boring, staying at home doing my tutorials and assignments and for me. I guess my life is getting more and more boring. Alright, I'm tired of waiting for blogspot to upload my photos. Why can't they just have multi-upload so that we do not have to click over and over again.

And now, I'm currently listening to my housemates wedding plans in the future. They were guessing who would be the first one to marry among their friends.

Fried Rice (eating it once or twice every week)

Cabbage

Steam Chicken with salt

A new breakfast - baked beans

Random car plate

Porkballs - not cooked yet

Cooking with butter mushroom, garlic and sauce

The meal - Pasta

I woke up today around 7.30a.m. and while looking at the toiletrolls

And...I found this - Each 1 has 1 roll of tissue

People playing kites on the beach

My legs again

Huge Anchor

That's all for today

$25.00

A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door.
.
SON: 'Daddy, may I ask you a question?'
.
DAD: 'Yeah sure, what it is?' replied the man.
.
SON: 'Daddy, how much do you make an hour?'
.
DAD: 'That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?' the man said angrily.
.
SON: 'I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?'
.
DAD: 'If you must know, I make $50 an hour.'
.
SON: 'Oh,' the little boy replied, with his head down.
.
SON: 'Daddy, may I please borrow $25?'
.
The father was furious, 'If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I don't work hard everyday for such childish frivolities.'
.
The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.
.
The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?
.
After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down , and started to think:
.
Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $25.00 and he really didn't ask for money very often The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.
.
'Are you asleep, son?' He asked.
.
'No daddy, I'm awake,' replied the boy.
.
'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier' said the man. 'It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the $25 you asked for.'
.
The little boy sat straight up, smiling. 'Oh, thank you daddy!' he yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills.
.
The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again.
.
The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.
.
'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the father grumbled.
.
'Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied.
.
'Daddy, I have $50 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.'
.
The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness.
.
It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Do remember to share that $50 worth of your time with someone you love.
.
If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of hours. But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.

Evolution

As time pass by, I begin to realize that I have changed. It might be in a good or might be in a bad way, depends on how each individuals looked at it. For me, I'm happy with it and guess it's a part of growing up in a different environment.

University's work is piling up on my shoulders where I MUST start my work as soon as possible. I'll promise that I'm going to extra hard comparing when I'm Malaysia as the work here are definitely tougher. Guess the time when I'm complaining about assignments back in Malaysia seriously nothing comparing here. So, wish me luck guys. No more entertainment for me for this and next month!!!

So lets sum up my weekends by pictures

Time Flies

As I sat on my mattress reminiscing, little that I know it had been exactly a month and a day since arriving in Adelaide (yea, my flight was on 12th February night and arrived here on 13th in the morning). Time flies when you're enjoying yourselves. Sometimes, it feels like its been months but other times might been just days for me here. Living apart from my parents do helped me to be more mature person where chores and plans were done frequently, especially deciding what will be having for dinner. That's the most complicated daily question as we were cooking the same dishes. Wonder how can we survive for another 9 months!!

Anyway, its been quite some time I had fun. Getting used to it here although there were times where I felt bored. Probably, the workload on assignments and homework in the future may occupy me. Might be finding a job here too.

Moving to serious business, I've attended all the lectures and tutorials except for Market Analysis class as it falls on a public holiday, Adelaide's Cup Day. Business Information System was definitely the most exciting class although I did not know any friends upon reaching class. My group consist of Asians from China to Singapore.

Glenelg beach again - sunset

Small Pelicans or ducks I think (my friends called them penguin)

Check out Mervyn's bedroom, a 3rd year student that had been living in Adelaide for 1 year - the size is almost triple of the rooms here

ABC soup

Egg with onions

Chicken Marionette

Fish Fillet, Lettuce and Fried Chicken Skin

Week 1

Hey guys, uni started last week. There were a total of 4 lectures (Business Information System, Market Analysis, Introduction to Law and Investment Project & Banking Finance) and 1 tutorial (Introduction to Law) held. From week 2 till week 14 there will be all lectures and tutorials. Here's my timetable which I prefer the study periods in Taylor's University College.

Click picture for a larger view

From my point of view, the lectures here are quite dull and boring compared to the lectures in Taylor's University College. The Introduction to Law tutorial was quite fun but I know it's going to be a tough subject. Maybe it's because of their English slang or I find it a little difficult to understand them. However, I shall try my best in the upcoming days and hopefully I'll be able to do the assessments like I did back in Malaysia.

Yesterday, I met a group of seniors at Sky City (the place to get free hot chocolate) and we went to Red Square to chill and get to know each other. It is definitely a great moment for me in Adelaide.

Again, I shall let the pictures do the talking as "A picture speaks a thousand words"

Food Plaza (AUS$ 6.50 per plate) - can take as much as we want but only on that plate

Ended up after dividing the chickens and fried rice costs each of us AUS$2.60

A guy from England performing in Rundle Street - He did backflipping over 4 people lying on the floor

Victoria Square - 10 minutes walk from the place I'm currently staying

First time I saw rain after two and a half days in Adelaide

A simple breakfast. Chocolate with bread (quite delicious)

My Introduction to Law tutorial class

Dinner (Boiled Cabbage with Carrots, Scramble Egg and Deep fry Chicken Skins)

Drinks

Beer - Much better than other beers at other pubs in Adelaide

Really need to thank the seniors who spend on us juniors. Total of eleven people where i guess they spent over AUS$300.
